For all ages and abilities
WDR Coaching
A football coaching service by professional coaches, for players of all ages and abilities — helping them develop their ability, confidence and understanding of the game through high-quality, player-focused coaching.

We offer different types of coaching depending on what a player needs. The aim is to help every player improve, enjoy their football and reach their potential — through a mixture of programmes and seasonal training camps.
Sessions are not just for children. They are open to players of all ages and abilities, whether you already play for a club, are just starting out, or simply enjoy football and want to improve.
What we offer
Four ways to get coached
Same coaches, same pitch. The difference is how many of them are on it with you.
On your own, or in a pair
- 1-2-1 sessions→Completely individual. Personalised coaching designed around one player, focused on their technique, confidence, understanding and overall game.
- 2-2-1 sessions→Two players with one coach. Individual attention, with more interaction, competition and decision-making through partner-based practices.
With other players
- Small group sessions→Small groups training together in a focused environment — technical ability, decision-making, teamwork and game understanding, with everyone involved throughout.
- Feedback sessions→A session followed by detailed written feedback — strengths, areas to improve and clear next steps for players and parents.
What to expect
The first session is the same for everyone
After that, every session is built around you.
Your first session gives us the chance to get to know you as a player and identify your individual strengths and weaknesses. You’ll also have the chance to tell us what you feel you need to work on and what areas of your game you’d like to improve.
From there, every session is tailored specifically to you — developing your weaknesses, building on your strengths, improving your confidence and ultimately helping you become a better, more complete player.

Outdoor sessions
The van goes out too
Not everything has to happen indoors.
We also deliver outdoor coaching sessions, and the WDR Coaching van carries the equipment to them. All of it is loaded directly from the WDR Football Centre, so wherever the session lands it is set up with everything needed to do it properly — goals, balls, markers, the lot — rather than whatever happened to fit in the boot.
The WDR Coaching van is proudly in association with D S Ronald Building Contractors.

Questions
The things people ask
Does my child need to play for a football club?
No. Your child does not need to play for a football club to attend WDR Coaching. Sessions are open to players of all abilities — whether they already play for a club, are just starting out, or simply enjoy football and want to improve. The same goes for adults: our sessions are for all ages and abilities.
What should you bring and wear for the sessions?
Comfortable sports or football clothing suitable for the session, appropriate football footwear, and shin pads. If you are a goalkeeper, we advise bringing your own gloves. All other equipment is provided for the session.
We recommend bringing your own water bottle — water is available to refill on site, just ask a member of the WDR team.
What boots are allowed on the astroturf at the WDR Football Centre?
To protect the pitch and everyone’s safety, please wear one of the following:
- Clean astros — rubber sole with small rubber studs
- Moulds — moulded studs only, no blades
- Trainers — flat rubber soles suitable for astro
Not allowed on the astroturf: bladed boots or studs, and any boots with metal studs. They damage the pitch and carry a higher risk of injury.
Can parents watch the session?
Yes! Parents are welcome to stay and watch their child’s session. We have a dedicated seating area with tables and chairs where you can relax and watch comfortably, and we have colouring activities available for younger siblings.
For a small additional fee, parents can use the gym during their child’s session.
